What Does The Bible Say About Salvation?
Romans 3:10 "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:"
Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"
Okay we are all sinners So What?? Why is that a big deal? That is a big deal because God is holy. In his holiness he cannot and will not allow sin to enter heaven, nor will he allow it to go unpunished. Sin must be judged!
Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death"
This death is not just a physical death but a spiritual death.. In what the Bible calls the lake of fire.
Revelation 20:11-15 "And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."
In light of all that we have just read, the simple truth is that God never intended man to go to Lake Of Fire! God loves man and wants him to be saved. God in his holiness must judge man, But God in his mercy desired to forgive man! So God made a way for Mankind to be saved!
John 3:16-17 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
Romans 5:8 "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
Jesus came and lived a sinless life for us ! When he died on the cross he was dying not just for you but AS you. He was bearing our sin and our judgement that day on the cross.
2 Corinthians 5:21 "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him."
1 Peter 2:24 "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree"
So Jesus died for the sins of EVERY man!
Hebrews 2:9 "But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man."
And its through the shedding of his Blood on the cross mankind can find forgiveness of sin.
Colossians 1:14 "In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:"
And Jesus by his own power rose from the dead 3 days later completing our salvation.
Romans 4:25 "Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification."
So Jesus died and was buried and rose again paying the sin debt of mankind!
Romans 10:9 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."
Romans 4:3-5 "For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
If you are reading this and you don't know that if you were to die today that you would go to heaven then what is hindering you? Jesus said "If any man would come unto me I would in no wise cast them out". You can be saved right now right where you are!
Look to him by faith and ask him in your own words to be your savior and to forgive you for your sins.
Romans 10:13 "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
